We were
at Kings Norton XS again, this time against their B team who are struggling
towards the bottom. They have lost a couple of good players since last
season and we thought we would be in for an easy win.
Luke got
us off to a good start. It was a game which swung both ways, with neither
player able to put a sizeable break together. Fortunately, Luke managed to
pot a nice blue and pink to clinch it.
Dave
played their best player, but again there was never much in it. Dave needed
a snooker with the last 3 colours and could not find one so lost 31-63.
Paul's
game was also fairly close. He was behind early after missing a couple of
long pots but then managed to get back into things. However, he was unable
to put a decent break together. It was down to the last few colours and he
potted a nice blue and then a simple pink and needed the black which was
close to a side cushion to win. He rattled it and the black ran across the
table and finished in a dead straight line with the corner pocket. His
opponent wobbled the black a little but it dropped to give them a 2-1 lead.
Alan's
game was also very close but after a good tussle unfortunately he lost it on
the pink.
Mark
struggled again early on and he fell someway behind but, unlike last week,
he did manage to get a couple of decent chances. He clawed his way back into
it with the first chance and then pulled away to win it with the second.
