MATCH REPORT - Cadbury - 27th February 2008

I'm pleased to report another 4-1 victory last night against Cadbury's.

Dave Thomas won his first game too! The draw worked out well for him, drawing their worst player, who has only won one game all season himself. Paul was refereeing his game and he was getting more nervous in this match than in his own game!!! Dave was ahead for the whole game and when it was down to the colours, his opponent needed one snooker. However, he managed to get one and we thought Dave might throw it away - but he kept his cool and potted green and brown for victory.

Mark had a good game and dominated it with a couple of 40 breaks, coming out an easy winner 96 -1.

Alan had his chances in his frame but failed to take them and lost to probably their best player.

Paul's game was pretty close and if truth be told, he had the run of the balls which probably made the difference. Even then, he almost managed to lose it at the end. His opponent went in off the green - Paul potted green and brown, but slightly under screwed, leaving himself a thinner cut on the blue than he would have liked. He made the mistake of trying to stay on the pink and left the cue ball short in the jaws of the middle pocket. His opponent potted the blue and was in pretty good shape on the pink, but wobbled it in the jaws.

It came away from the pocket to leave another thin cut, but this time Paul managed to sink it.

Stuart also dominated his match and probably should have made a decent break, but through bad luck or running slightly out of position, he could not manage it.

Overall though, a 4-1 victory is a good result.
